Dial-a-Ride reveals newest bus…

Last Thursday evening, Beaches Dial-a-Ride board and staff, business, civic and philanthropic leaders from the beaches community celebrated Dial-a-Ride’s service and vehicle expansion at Beach Diner in Atlantic Beach. The newest para-transit vehicle in Dial-a-Ride’s fleet — a 27-foot, 2015 StarCraft AllStar, 13-passenger (10 regular seats; 3 wheelchair) bus— was revealed to nearly 60 guests at the private event, generously hosted by Barry Adeeb of Beach Diner.

This bus is the third vehicle in Dial-a-Ride’s fleet and is provided by the generous grant support of the Beaches Community Fund, the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach and Christ Episcopal Church. According to Gary Tiller, executive director of Beaches Council on Aging and their flagship program, Dial-a-ride, “This new vehicle comes at a critical time as the beach community’s senior population continues to grow, and Dial-a-Ride’s demand for door-to-door transportation and expanded service area continues to grow.”

Joann Craft…

At October’s A Night with the Stars celebration, ElderSource honored caregivers in the aging industry who go above and beyond in their daily service to seniors in the community. Our very own Joann Craft, Dial-a-Ride’s scheduler/dispatcher, was celebrated for going about her work in a quiet, unassuming way. She’s behind the scenes providing vital support to seniors in the beaches communities.
